2016 Michigan Level 10 State Meet

0

IMG_8379-3  The 2016 Level 10 State Meet this year was unlike any other I have been too, in the past I knew who was going to win each age group, but this year there was certainly a curveball thrown in. Each athlete performed to the best of their ability on that particular day, each athlete had a fire inside them that you could feel in the air. However, what I love most about the Level 10 State Meet Session is that it is a bit more laid back than you would think. Everyone is so confident, passionate, willing to help each other and always cheering for each other. These girls are all friends and are all sharing the same experiences which is very cool to witness.

This year 4 new All-Around State Champions were crowned in each age group, with some of the last years winners moving on to college, elite gymnastics, being injured or simply not having a greIMG_8382-3at day allowed 4 new All-Around Champions to emerge. It is always refreshing to see the success of Michigan Gymnastics and the depth of our state and how it impacts Region 5 as a whole. State Meets around the country, for most are the end point to a long season, but for the higher levels it is just the beginning of Championship Season. The Level 10s who obtained a 34.00 or higher All-Around score qualified to Regionals and those who did not have the opportunity to petition their way to Region 5 Championships to try and qualify to the main event…..JO NATIONALS!!!!

CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON STARTS NOW!!!

2016 Michigan State Meet “Ones to Watch” Level 10

0

Logo-2Heading into the championship season means it is time for the best in the state to qualify to Regionals, then from there onto Level 9 Eastern Nationals and Level 10 JO Nationals. Region 5 has always had a strong showing at both National Competitions, winning many individual, team and super team awards. Michigan is one of the strongest and most onestowatch-headercompetitive states in the Region. The State Meet is really where we get the first opportunity to see ALL the gyms in the state on the floor together at one time, battling it out not only for a state individual and team title, but also a spot at The Region 5 Championships, which is one step closer to qualification to the Grand Finale….Nationals!

There are so many talented athletes competing in the  Level 10 Session that every single one should be considered “One to Watch” however I have narrowed the list down to my Top 8 per event then Top 8 All-Arounders. Please enjoy and look for these incredible routines at the Michigan Level 10 State Meet Friday at 4pm at Northwood University in Midland, MI.
