Learning more about the world around us and its history is one of the awesome opportunities these trips provide for our regions athletes. While here in Hawaii we took a trip to the Pearl Harbor National Memorial to learn more about what happened on the December morning in 1941. We had the opportunity to view the battleship USS Arizona in its final resting place, check out a submarine and tour the battleship Missouri. The quote Pride Runs Deep is truly felt as your experience this memorial to our fallen soldiers.
Training Highlights Day 2 | Region 5 All Star Trip
The 2023 Region 5 All Star Team trained at Hawaiian Island Twisters this week and here are some highlights from our second day of training. Our athletes are on different training plans right now with working combos while others were just conditioning and recovering from some injuries. You still get to see some big gymnastics.
Training Thursday: Locked Leg Back Handspring for Yurchenkos

Brandon Field from Aspire gymnastics used a cool drill at Level 9 High Tech Camp to help keep the legs straight on punch off the board on round off entry vaults. He gives two variations of the drill to help the gymnasts feel the straight leg action.

Megan talks about her decision to take her 5th year though played a bit of a prank on her team and us fans. We talk about her upgraded bars dismount she debuted last season and what we can expect to see in her 5th year season. Region 5 pride flows from her soul and she talks about how competing in the MAC ( I mean the Region 5 Conference) is like she is back in her Region 5 days.
