Division 3 gymnastics has entered the post season as the 2025 WIAC Championships took place this past weekend. These athletes have been really impressive this season with big routines and performances that are pushing the judges to give the scores that the athletes deserve, though we are not there yet.
Wisconsin OshKosh won the team title with a 193.925 giving them their 5th consecutive conference crown. The meet host Wisconsin LaCrosse took 2nd with a 192.975 and close behind in 3rd WhiteWater with a 192.85. Winona State finished 4th setting a new all time program record of 191.9.
3 Region 5 Alums were honored with Conference awards: - Delaney Cienkus from Wisconsin Oshkosh was named the Gymnast of the Year for 2025 - Kelsey Donovan from Eau Claire and Aleah Radojevich from OshKosh were named to the All Sportsmanship team by their respective schools
Our Region 5 alums fared very well individually with 9 top 10 finishes along with 2 more in the top 15. Kennedy O’Connor, Winona State 5th year senior and the 2022 D3 National Vault Champion won the conference vault title with her full on pike off vault for a 9.825.
Mia Lucero, Wisconsin Osh Kosh the 2024 conference vault champion tumbled her way to 2nd place on floor with her high energy floor routine that ends in a death drop and a 9.8. Mia also finished 8th on vault with a 9.75

One week ago the 16th version of the Nastia Cup took place in Kentucky. Region 5 qualified five to the 2025 Nastia Liukin Cup with three making their first appearance at the Nastia Cup. All five finished in the top 10 all around for their age groups.
One of those first time qualifiers, Cameron Tassone from IK Gymnastics, took home a Nastia signature trophy finishing 3rd in the all around for seniors with a 38.85. Cameron placed 2nd on vault with a very nice Yurchenko 1 1/2 (9.825) and on floor with a 9.7.

Two more top 10 finishes, Addie Sarisky and Gabby Van Frayen finished 9th and 10th in the senior all around. This was Addie’s 2nd consecutive appearance at the Nastia Cup and broke the top 3 on uneven bars with a 9.75. Gabby competed in her 3rd Nastia Cup and continued her 9.9 string (KGA Qualifier and at Nastia) on balance to tie for first on the event… Yes there were two 9.9’s on beam but only one back handspring Ondi series!

Two represented Region 5 in the Junior competition, and both took part in their first Nastia Cups. Reagan Nowak from Branch Gymnastics finished 6th all around achieving a 38.0 and takes the title on what is probably her best event bars with a 9.7 (very nice Hidorff release).

Carla Fronc from Palmers Gymnastics tied for 7th all around with a 37.75 giving two top 10 finishes for our two junior competitors. Carla, who has qualified elite compulsories and is looking to achieve her elite optional score, finished 7th on bars with her very dynamic aggressive swing for a 9.475. This podium experience will bode well for her in the elite arena.
