The prep for another competition season in Region 5 is in underway. As our gymnasts set and work towards their goals for 2022, we will be featuring many of the new skills and combos. Every Monday all summer long and into the fall we will have our Making Move Mondays showcasing the upgraded skills that our gymnasts post on their Instagram channels. 

If you want your upgraded skills to be included in future making your move posts, upload your video to your gymnastics Instagram page or your clubs page (must be public) and tag us @region5gyminsider and #R5MakingMovesMonday.

University Florida senior Leah Clapper joined us for this episode of Alumni Conversation. Leah who is alway smiling which she shows from start to finish during her beam routine gives us the history behind her continuous smile. As we do with all our alums, we take her back to her Region 5 days and discuss how Region 5 has impacted her gymnastics in college. Leah has several good stories about her recruiting journey, how she started Zest and Finnesse and the lead up to her first perfect 10. This season was her first opportunity to compete in the post season and we discuss that experience and what take aways she had that will help her during her senior year.

Roger Pasek from Midwest Elite is mic’d up during the Senior F vault rotation at the 2021 Level 10 Dev Nationals. Roger had two athletes in this session Gaby Stephens and Mackenzie Sedlacek. Listen in as Roger does what he always does jokes with his athletes to keep the atmosphere light while also giving them the little things each need to focus on to have a successful vault.
