Emily Carless, Branch Gymnastics- Making the best of an arm injury:)
Bay Valley Academy’s Dominique Militello has completed her last year of JO Gymnastics, graduated High School and finished her last season of competitive dance. Dom, who has one of the most entertaining floor routines on the gymnastics floor, will be heading to Western Michigan University come August to compete as a member of the Broncos Gymnastics Team. Dominique, who was a first year Level 10 has spent her entire life doing gymnastics in her home-town of Bay City, Michigan with long time coach Nanci Moore. Not only can Dom rock the gymnastics floor, she is also a competitive dance title winner. This future Bronc has accomplished many great things in the sport of gymnastics such as being a Level 9 National All Around & Event Champion, a Michigan State Champion and has earned a spot on the WMU Gymnastics Team. Dominique will certainly be missed on the competition floor, but I am excited to see what the future holds for her in the world of college gymnastics and what amazing floor routines she will have in the years to come. Let’s get to know Dom a little better as she wraps up her summer with BVA and heads to the next chapter with WMU in the Fall.

Alyssa Keller of All American Flames in Michigan is certainly one to watch. I first noticed Keller last year as a Level 9 athlete because of her incredible tuck full Tsuk vault. This vault was certainly eye catching because it was a rare thing to see in Level 9. So, every meet that the Lady Flames were at last season got me super excited because I knew I would see this vault! When I showed up to the first meet of the season and saw Alyssa competing Level 10 I knew everyone was in for a treat. Not only does Alyssa have a strong unique vault, she is also incredible to watch on the floor, with her powerful tumbling & sassy routine it’s definitely a performance to watch. Alyssa qualified to her first JO Nationals as a first year level 10 and even though she had to withdraw from the competition after two events she really left her mark. Alyssa competed a brand new vault in competition at JO Nationals, and was successful which was absolutely incredible to watch. Alyssa is entering her Senior Year this fall and is looking to make an impact in a huge way! Let’s get to know Alyssa a little bit better as she embarks on her final year of club gymnastics.
