0

This past weekend some of Region 5’s best gathered in Diamondale, Michigan for the first meet of 2018. Twistars has hosted this January Invitational for over 20 years and many have made a tradition out of attending this fantastic event. As usual there were so many level 10 teams that the session had to be split into two. The first Level 10 Session featured Gym America, Michigan Elite Gymnastics Academy (MEGA), Branch Gymnastics, Midland Gymnastics, Gym Kinetics and Above the Barre. The second Level 10 Session of the night included some hard hitting teams Cincinnati Gymnastics (CGA), Jaycie Phelps Athletic Center (JPAC), Bay Valley Academy, GymQuarters, Future Gymnastics, Splitz, Xquisite (PA) and the home team Twistars USA.  This meet as usual did not disappoint, it was a great start to the 2018 Gymnastics Season and the road to Nationals!

20 Questions with JO National Qualifier Karlie Franz (Hunts Gymnastics)

0

Karlie Franz of Hunts Gymnastics, has always been an exceptionally talented gymnast, but she has really come into her own in the last few years. The power that she exhibits on all around the gym is just remarkable. Karlie, who has been a level 10 for a few years now, made her first JO Nationals in 2017 and certainly left her mark on the competition. Karlie was part of the Junior F team that topped the podium in Indy, not bad for her first time on the National Stage. Karlie, who is known for her incredible tumbling, will be showcasing some new skills in 2018 as she looks to make a run at another JO National Team. Karlie is one of my favorite athletes to watch, not only is she a wonderful talent, but she is an incredible teammate and all around nice person.
